Managing Director

Becky Stones

Becky Stones

Managing Director

Becky has recently retired from Investment Banking after 25 years working at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank. Most of those years, Becky was a Managing Director leading large Risk and Control groups where she was a member of many of the Executive Committees and Risk Management Committees.  Becky was recognised in 2017 by “Woman of the Year” as one of the UK’s top achieving women. She is also a Chartered Accountant.

Becky’s two life-long passions have been the welfare and protection of animals and Show Jumping. She has owned ponies, followed by horses, all her life and has enjoyed considerable success buying Show Jumping youngsters and producing them to  world class standard. Becky’s most successful horses to date have been Peppermill, ridden by John Whitaker, MBE and British Equestrian Olympian, and Hello Forever, ridden by Scot Brash, MBE and Olympic Gold Medalist. Both horses are frequently referred to by riders and in the media as “world-class show jumping stallions”.

Becky has recently set up Ridgeway Farm Stud with her husband Toby Duthie. She has project managed the design and build of the new Stud over the last three years, paying the closest attention to every detail. Her vision is to build, with Thomas Whitaker and the Ridgeway team, a leading, boutique Stud which produces future championship horses to gain top world ranking and to become the first choice of Stud for our clients. Becky is keen to differentiate the Stud from others and plans to do so by only breeding or buying top horses as youngsters and producing them to the highest level from the start with no compromises at any time; by building the highest reputation of trust and transparency for the Stud by X and by providing a five-star experience for all of our visiting clients by offering luxurious overnight accommodation in the new, purpose built farmhouse

Cecilie Tofte

Stud Manager & Rider

We are very pleased that Cecilie Tofte has joined the team at Ridgeway Farm Stud.

Cecilie has represented Denmark at several European Championships at pony, junior and young rider level, emphasising her excellent record in Young Riders by becoming Nordic Individual and Team Champion in 2008.  Moving on to senior ranks Cecilie made her senior team debut for Denmark in 2011 in the CSIO5* Nations Cup of Great Britain at Hickstead, and the CSIO5* Nations Cup of Ireland in Dublin.

In 2013 Cecilie took a break from international competition to gain a BSc in Business Administration and Service Manangement at Copenhagen Business School.  Cecilie then worked a number of years at the global company ISS before making a successful return to the international show jumping stage at Thermal CA in the spring of 2020.

We are thrilled that Cecilie is able to bring her wealth of riding talent and experience to Ridgeway Farm Stud while using her business skills to manage the stud.

Eventing Producer & Rider

Caroline Harris

Caroline Harris

Eventing Producer & Rider

29 year old, Caroline Harris, has been based, for the past few seasons, with Australian Olympic medallist, Sam Griffiths, on the Somerset/Dorset border and has already achieved notable successes, bringing young horses up through the eventing ranks and achieving highly consistent results up to 3 star international level.

In 2019 and 2018 Caroline recorded some excellent results.  The 2019 season has concluded with a 7th Place in the CIC4* for 8 and 9 year old Horses at Blenheim Horse trials. In 2018 she had top 10 finishes at 4 and 3 star level at the Ballindenisk International. And, during 2017 she was busy producing several young horses who progressed very successfully from BE100 to Novice, to 1 and 2 star level.

Aboard her own Billy Bumble (purchased from the Billy Stud as a 4 year old), Caroline was never out of the top 10 in international events in 2016 – which included a third in Bicton’s CIC2* and 7th in Blenheim’s 8/9 year old CIC3*.

Her potential has been recognised by The British Equestrian Federation, having twice been selected for the now redundant World Class Equine Pathway Programme

Farrier

Tom is one of the leading younger farriers in the UK and covers several of the top show jumping yards in south of England. He is an excellent farrier with a huge focus on detail and an individualistic approach to each horse. Every horse has an individual approach to help us minimise the risk of future lameness such as managing the hoof angle, shape, hoof texture. We aim for each horse to have the best hooves possible, which will help the horses career last as long as possible.

Tom collaborates closely with Rory (our vet) when needed to implement any remediation requirements. We scan the hooves where needed and closely monitor all changes over time. Tom is a critical member of our team and accompanies us on our longer term international trips.
